Help Me Get Back Into Anime December 8, 2009

As many of you may know… or prolly the 4 people who have read all my posts… i have not been watching anime… AT ALL. This also is the cause for me not having ANY posts recently… and by recently i mean like 2 months. Meanwhile my good friend Eye Sedso has been making steady posts for a year…. Over 400 in a year? your a nut.
Anyways, I have watched no anime in about 6 months. I have tried watching an ep or 2 here and there and got bored and left. I dont know why this is happening considering I used to LOVE anime. Like seriously… The weird part is, i still love to talk about anime, but just don’t watch it.

Shuttup dickfore, Im not gonna write posts about irrelevant shit from the past i dont even care about anymore.
Anyways, my request is that one of you suggest a show that will get me back into anime. I will watch at least one episode of whatever shows are suggested, and if your responsible for the show that gets me back into it… i dunno ill do something to reward you… what? i dunno what can i really do… ill think of something.
I’m guessing either Eye Sedso or Baka-Raptor will give me the best ones, because they seem to have the best opinions about anime shows.
Oh, and you can read my list so you dont recommend something that I already watched.
Well, hopefully you can get me back into anime, because i can’t seem too.

Well, this post is pretty much gonna be 50 words and 2 videos. But it is highly unlikely you will find out about this movie for yourself. However, this is a movie that makes fun of all Kung-Fu movies, and is actually hilarious and awesome at the same time.
First of all… Who WOULDN’T want to watch a movie that starts off like this??

I was browsing the internet for new technology and was looking at 3d printers (BTW google or youtube 3d printers… its UNREAL) and i thought to myself, why dont i go to TED.com?? they usually have some sick shit.
Well, guess what I found.
The coolest fucking thing ever. Watch the entire video and your jaw will seriously drop. If your not in complete amazement then you lack the ability to be amazed and should just off yourself. Anyways, here is the video.. Watch the entire thing and be amazed:

It’ll make you laugh, cry, and shit yourself at the same time.
If you have never seen this show… you are missing one of the funniest shows ever.
Darkplace is a parody of the horror genre. The show is created by the fictional character Garth Marenghi who is the “Orson Wells of horror.”
Each episode starts with Garth talking to you about his show, and during each episode their are interviews with the characters.
You will honestly laugh non-stop through each episode.
My favorite character in this show is Dr. Sanchez. And here is a reason why:
He also has hundreds of great lines, such as:
If those two videos haven’t convinced you to watch this show, then your a dick.
It’s only 6 episodes long, and is the funniest 6 eps you will see.
I also am going to write no more on this subject because I am really tired, however i wanted to make you aware of this show.

The Great Yakuza Horror Theatre: GOZU August 9, 2009

I first found GOZU by looking through the list of movies at the Cannes Film Festival because I have recently been in love with foreign films. (BTW!!: If anyone knows where I can find the movie Diagnosis: Death then I will love you forever.)
GOZU was in Cannes in 2003. It was originally scheduled for a straight to DVD release. However, it received such a positive reception that it was released theatrically overseas.
The was in which the movie was filmed is brilliant also. It was filmed in three weeks, and during those weeks Miike only gave the actors their character’s names and occupations. The dialogue and pivotal scenes were improvised, creating a stream of consciousness type of film.
Now, on to the actual movie. I don’t do spoilers, so don’t expect any.
This is one of the strangest movies you will ever see. It is completely fucked up, but that is why this movie is nasty. There are so many BIZARRE scenes in this movie, for example, there is a lady who runs a milk factory who milks her tits into small bottles to sell them.
The entire film is in Japanese, so you need to get it with subtitles. But I highly suggest you find it if you can. There is a lot of symbolism, including split personalities, reincarnation, etc. etc. There is a very bizarre sense of humor in this movie, and a lot of tongue and cheek. There is also a hilarious scene where the break the fourth wall, and it is one of my favorite scenes in the movie.
GOZU is known as one of the strangest movies ever made, and it is for good reason. The movie is like, half hilarious, and half really disturbing. The movie won’t scare you, but it will freak you out.
Well, the main storyline, which takes place between all the bizarre scenes haha, is about the main character, Minami, and his search for his brother. His brother is reborn a few times, and its really messed up, and I dunno, if you wanna see something really really bizarre, WATCH THIS MOVIE. Actually, no matter what, just watch the movie. GOZU is a stroke of genius that could only take place in an indie. (If you can’t tell I’m becoming obsessed with indies and the film festivals.

Yes, this movie is so fucking wierd. But when I saw it, I started it at like 1 in the morning cuz i just wanted to make sure the torrent worked and the subs matched, etc. And I ended up watching the whole thing, because I couldn’t take my eyes of the fucking screen.

in case you follow my site… which only like 4 people actually are “followers” i just get a lot of hits lately (mostly from megan fox)… i have given up all anime except Bleach. Why? because ive invested 3 years into that show and i will watch it until the end. other than that… i will be no longer watching anime. i havent watched any in over a month, and i haven’t missed it at all.
I have been watching hbo series, which are so much better. Well actually just Flight of the Conchords, True Blood, and Entourage. Conchords and Entourage are my 2 favorite shows easily on television. Anyways, I just thought id let you know so you dont come here for anime any more. If i post (which i doubt i will cuz i dont give a shit about this site) it will be about movies or sports.

X-Men: The Manga June 30, 2009

I was on mangahut.com today and i noticed a very strange thing… there was an X-Men manga… at first i thought it was just the comics… but then i guess its the comics taylored for the Japanese audience.
Now, I am a HUGE fan of X-men, and I’ve read a shit load of X-men comics (most notably the ones starring Apocalypse, because he is THE MAN).
Anyways, I read the first chapter of the Manga and it seems to be the same story as the original comics. The only thing different is the drawing. They character look a tiny bit more like manga characters… but they really aren’t a lot different.
At this point I’m not sure if this will differ from the original comics at all but I’m still going to read the manga version because I love the X-Men series.

This post is going to be short and sweet. Basically to anyone who has given up on Phantom.
The show is now completely different. First of all, an ep hasn’t been subbed in like 4 weeks, and the new one just came out.
Right off the bat everything is different, its 6 months later, and Zwei is THE MAN.
I won’t put in any spoilers, but I’ll just say that Phantom has turned into a show about Revenge (that involves a new character not revenge on Phantom) and is getting very very interesting. I actually can’t wait for the new eps because the show was starting to get very dull and repetative.
They deff took a step in the right direction and the show is trending upwards. If you’ve given up on the show at least watch till episode 12, and you’ll continue to watch it.

I mean jesus fucking christ (i dont believe in god i can say that phrase whenever i want) you guys are retarded. I first decided to post on this topic when tj han commented on a post of mine about Koukaku no Regios saying:
“You kidding right? This is satire right? See, if you like the novel version of Regios, I might be convinced but the anime adaptation is so, so bad. I finished it up to ep 24, and come on, it’s rubbish. Then again, I checked out your top ten anime list and realised you were like 10 years old or something.”
